Centre for Community and International Partnerships
The Centre for Community and International Partnerships (the CCIP) facilitates the implementation of the service-learning programmes (as discussed under Faculty Community Engagement Reports below) and Work-Integrated Learning programmes at WSU.
Centre for Learning and Teaching Development
One of the key community engagement projects that the CLTD is involved in is an engagement with the FET Colleges.
The Centre for Rural Development (the CRD) successfully organised six WSU’s Annual Rural Development Conference, which had to be put on hold due to the University’s financial challenges.
Enterprise Development Centre (EDC)
The establishment of the Enterprise Development Centre was to ensure engagement through entrepreneurship and to provide support to the development of SMME sector.
Centre for Rail Studies (CRS) (hyperlink to centre page)
This Centre was established in June 2009 (within the School of Engineering) to assist the Eastern Cape Government in the revival of rail as a mode of transport.
The Institute for Advanced Tooling (hyperlink to centre page)
The Institute for Advanced Tooling – Eastern Cape (the IAT-EC) is situated within the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology’s Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The Centre for HIV and AIDS was established in 2009 to facilitate and coordinate the implementation of a comprehensive institutional HIV/Aids strategy for WSU.
