Her research at Honours and Masters focussed on policy implementation. Her primary research focus is on policy implementation and staff development in higher education.

Dr Cishe has occupied administrative positions as a Head of Department, Council member, Chairperson of the School Governing Body, Coordinator of projects and programmes, Coordinator of HEQC programme evaluation, Chairperson of various committees and Programme Leadership.

She also served as a leader of an academic staff labour union (National Tertiary Education Staff Union). She is a President of the Southern African Society for Education (SASE), a research association that truly provides the platform for an academic discourse on educational issues that impact on the Southern African society.

Dr Cishe has taught a number of courses from undergraduate to postgraduate and also served as external examiner for Fort Hare and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan universities.

She has successfully supervised postgraduate students at honours and masters. As a result of her passion for teaching, she was one of the recipients for the Vice Chancellor’s Awards for excellence in Learning and Teaching in 2012.

She has written school books in life orientation, presented papers in local, national and international conferences. Some of the papers read have been published in conference proceedings and accredited journals.
